Course Description
We’ll start with the vowel sounds that most Australian speakers change when they’re speaking American English: OH, AY, short i, and a, and the compound I. We’ll use poems for this that you’ll have MP3 recordings for so you’ll be able to easily rehearse on your own.
As actors, we’ll also do a check on your diaphragmatic breathing to make sure you’re supporting your speech and creating pleasant tones.
Finally, we’ll be applying our new American sounds to a monologue you can use to double check your accent and to keep you on track.
