THE MELBOURNE EAST STUDIO
Located in the heart of Mt Waverley, close to shops, trains and buses our Melbourne East Studio has been training actors for film and TV for 15 years.
There are Adult Classes in the evenings, and classes for Teenagers and Children on weekdays after school and weekends.
We also offer School Holiday programs and stand alone Workshops where you can develop specific skills such as auditioning for film, TV, and commercials; or refining your US accent.
So if you have always wanted to give acting a go, are ready to take it to the next level, or would love pursue acting as a career – why not come along and try out a class.
What will you learn?
Lead by the teaching of highly qualified VCA graduate, Aaron Walton, you’ll develop confidence, creativity and performance skills by engaging in curated exercises from various disciplines (eg. VCA, Stanislavski, Chekhov, Alexander, Meisner, Laban) that train you to be truly present in the moment, to work impulsively, to develop a strong composing capacity, to be playful and alive, and to engage in active listening.
You’ll learn script analysis – a fundamental skill every actor needs. Each week you analyse and perform a new scene. Through script analysis you will explore what’s happening in the scene, what led up to this moment and what the characters are trying to achieve.
You’ll develop skills in on-camera performance. You will learn how to deliver convincing dialogue and performances while matching your moves to different camera positions and frames.
You learn quickly by harnessing the power of immediate feedback. As you review our scene and get feedback from your teacher you can see straight away what’s working in your performance and what aspects of the technique you need to develop.
